We will be assigning individuals to teams between October.

Competition Structure and Rules

  1. Eligibility
    1. All competitors must be undergraduate students in Canada
    2. Team size must be between 3 to 5 people
    3. People without a team (signing up individually) will be placed within either a Tech division or a Business division, depending on their selection during sign-up.
  2. Submission/Ideation Round
    1. Participants have to submit their GitHub repository (including steps to deploy the app), pitch slides, a demo video of the product, a written summary of the product, and team member and contribution
    2. Teams must declare the category they are a part of (to be eligible for category prizes)
      1. Teams that choose not to fall under any category will not be eligible for any category prizes, but will still be eligible for the general 1st to 3rd place prizes
    3. Participants will have 48 hours to submit the items in clause 2) sub-clause a)
    4. If an individual drops out at any point during the ideation round, the drop-out and the remaining team members are liable to find a replacement and can seek help from the organizers to do so
  3. Elevator Round
    1. Teams will pitch to judges one by one in a closed room setting
    2. Each elevator pitch will be 3 minutes
    3. Scores are aggregated and top 5 teams move on
  4. Finalist Round
    1. Participants have 10 minutes to pitch, with 3 minutes for judgesโ€™ Q&A
    2. The presentation must have at least 1 screenshot of the working app
    3. Judges will have the opportunity to deliberate amongst themselves after all pitches are finished to determine winners

Categories

Participants will have the opportunity to build their solutions within distinct categories - if they choose to do so. Doing so will allow them to win more category-specific prizes!
